THE OLD RIVER LODGE

Maximum
6 adults,
plus 2 children of any age (plus any children under 3 free).
Due to the peaceful and residential nature of our neighborhood no parties or special events are permitted, and the home's use is restricted to no more than the number of paid guests (exceptions can be made for daytime visitors, please inquire as you will need to receive permission for any extra guests).
(for
larger groups, consider our Riverwood
Lodge just 3/4 mile away, to sleep an additional
4-8 guests. Our Firefly
Lodge property is about 1 1/2 mile away and
sleeps an additional 4-8 guests. Lastly, our property
Northwoods Lodge (also 1 1/2 mile away) sleeps
an additional 4-6 guests.
THE
OLD RIVER LODGE is a 3 1/2 story, lodge-style,
rustic home with historic charm, built in the 1930's (and is just
1.8 miles from the park plaza in downtown
Healdsburg). From it's riverside decks and balconies you are offered
spectacular views of the river and surrounding hills. This historic
home is our most "cabin-like" property. It is very charming
with a large, attractive, knotty pine vaulted ceiling "Great
Room" for entertaining, and is clean and comfortably equipped
for your enjoyment. Two rooms have one queen-size bed each. A
third room (the master suite) has one queen-size bed and an additional
single bed that can be used there or wheeled out into the adjacent
game room. There is also a full / double bed in the game room.
All beds have
fine, 100% cotton linens, and down alternative comforters.
The
three story home has two full baths and a half bath. One full
bath is located on the upper level, the half bath is on the main
level, and another full bath is in the master suite on the lower
level.

are made available, along with several life vests of varying
sizes. Typical boating season is May 1-October 31, depending
on river conditions. |
| Swimming,
rafting/kayaking, fishing and other watersport opportunities
abound. |
| Two
fishing poles (rod, reel, tackle) are provided. |
| Parking
for 2 vehicles (a 3rd may be possible, please inquire). |

Wood-burning
fireplace in Great Room
(Logs may be purchased for about $7 a bundle at Garret's
Ace Hardware (on the northeast corner of Healdsburg Avenue
and Dry Creek Road).

Fully
equipped kitchen, including tableware, cooking utensils,
refrigerator, range/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker,
blender, toaster and other small appliances; also includes
cleaning supplies and basic kitchen necessities as well
as a variety of basic cooking condiments and spices.

| Bed
linens and bath towels provided. Hair dryers. Ironing board
and iron. (We use Allegy Guard dust mite barriers and down
alternative comforters). |
| A
play yard/portable crib (for babies up to 30 lbs and 35
inches tall) with sheet and blanket, a high chair and a
baby gate are provided at the house.

top Foosball game, a magnetic dart board, and a good assortment of games are provided
in the game room. |

case, we will make our best effort to minimize any inconvenience

EXTERIOR
This
charming, rustic, lodge style structure has lots of authentic,
historic character. It was built in the 1930's along the
riverbank on South Fitch Mountain in Healdsburg in a location
with commanding views both of the river and the surrounding
hills. There are 3 levels of decks and balcony. |
GREAT
ROOM
| The
great room has soaring open beamed ceilings and hand hewn
beams. Wood is used everywhere. Two comfortable leather sofas
surround the wood-buring fireplace and the dining table for
8+ sits adjacent to the main deck (with 5 person Marquis spa).
The views are superb!. |
KITCHEN
| The
large, sunny kitchen invites you to enjoy breakfast with a
river view! The kitchen is adjacent to the great room and
has a door to access the main deck for outdoor dining and
grilling. |
GAME
ROOM
There
are a game table and games (including a table top foosball
game and a magnetic dart board), some chairs, a television,
and a futon that sleeps two. A sliding door opens to the
covered deck with additional seating, hammack and views
of the river. |
BATHROOMS
Our
bathrooms have many authentic period fixtures dating from
the 1930's.
The upper level bath has a shower over
a bath and charming period decor.
The main level bath is a half bath located
just off the great room and kitchen.
The lower level private master bath is
large and well appointed. It has a shower over a bath, and
adjoins the master suite. |

Room
The beds are appointed with high quality, pillow top mattresses
and fine linens. High quality Allergy Guard dust mist proof
casings encase all of our mattresses, box springs, comforters
and pillows. Two of the rooms and the game room have fantastic
river views. A third room has views of a wooded hillside.
All of the rooms have queen size beds with fine, 100% cotton
linens, and down alternative comforters. A 4th sleeping
area (the game room) has a full size bed. Additionally,
there is a twin size bed in the master suite, along with
the queen. |

The
master suite is a large size room, with a dresser, Tiffany-style
lamp, views, and a sliding glass door for deck access. It
has two closets. (One is a large, walk-in size closet, which
stores spare linens, pillows, and blankets, an iron and ironing
board.) There is a second closet for hanging clothes, and
storing items.) A twin bed in the master suite may be helpful
for those who are traveling with a child. The master bathroom
adjoins the master suite. |

is spacious and quaint, with a shower over the tub, and antique
appointments. |

This
room is located on the upper level. From it's multiple windows
there are views of wooded areas on South Fitch Mountain. It

The Pine
Room is clad in knotty pine, and the queen bed has a log headboard

In the
game room there is a high-quality futon that is made into
a full/double bed. It's a very comfortable sleeping option,
with a high quality mattress, cotton linens, and a down alternative
comforter. |
Location:
|
The Game
Room is located on the lower level. It is located at the bottom
of the flight of stairs from the Great Room. The Game Room
has a sliding door to the covered deck on the lower level.
The Master Suite sits adjacent to this room. |

The
decor is comfortable, and reminiscent of an earlier era. |
DECKS
/ SPA
The
main level deck opens to the Great Room through French doors,
as well as opening to the kitchen. There is a five person
Marquis spa located here. The river views from this deck are
spectacular. There is a gas fired BBQ and a glass topped table
for outdoor dining. In warmer months, a shade cloth provides
partial shade for this deck.
The lower
level deck (see photos) is partially covered for enjoyment
in all types of weather, and partially uncovered to take advantage
of the sun's rays, if desired. Here the views are incredible,
as well. There are a table and chairs, and a hammock for your
relaxation. From the deck, a sliding door leads to the game
room, and another sliding door leads to the master suite.
A gate leads from the deck to steps that descend to the beach
and private dock for launching the two kayaks. |
DOCK
The
dock at the river level is made of concrete. It is similar
to a poolside deck, and is close to the water level, in
season (typically May 1-October 31, depending on conditions).
We provide two kayaks for your use which may be launched
here, and fishing from the dock is great. Or, just relax
and enjoy the views, or go for a swim. (Ask about our Winter
Fisherman's Getaway rates - Steelhead and salmon fishing
are possible from right here at our dock!)

home has simply outstanding panoramic views of the Russian
River and surrounding hills. It's beautiful in the morning,
awesome at sunset, and fantastic in between. |
